Bingo Chat Room Ethics

Being rude will get you ousted!

Many of the online bingo gaming sites are now adding a special chatting feature to some of their game divisions. This fun addition to bingo games has also brought some questionable behaviors by participants. If you want to be sure you stay kosher with your conversations, follow some simple rules of etiquette that can easily be translated into the lessons learned in grade school.

First off, consider your screen name as an example of you. It projects an image to the other players, positive or negative. Choose names that will not offend, and is generally tasteful. This will avoid undue antagonizing of the other players.

Next, think of the “do unto others” phrase that is so popular. If you use inappropriate language you will likely be given that in return. You may be okay with some language and ideas that are a little bit more familiar than a simple chat room acquaintance. Be aware that the other chat members may not. Treat your chat room mates as they are – recently met acquaintances. Just because you are comfortable talking a bit raunchily does not connote that everyone in the chat room does as well.

Impersonating another player is the next “no-no” in the world of online chat. Not only is it wrong, but the other players will notice a change and probably report that to the chat moderators via email or directly in front of you. Then you will be revealed and removed from play – possibly even the site entirely.

In bingo chat rooms, there are generally “chat monitors” that work for the company that owns the site. The simple fact is that they are in control of the room. Respecting them and their authority will be the most beneficial – and the most fun for everyone in the room. They may give warnings for inappropriate behavior, and they may ask you to leave. It is their call, and it is in your control whether or not you offend them.

Follow the simple rules of behavior, and you will be sure to have a great experience playing bingo online.
