Hull Bingo Newcomers Wins ₤24,000

A forty-nine year old man from Hull, who only started playing bingo two months ago has become one of the latest lucky winners of the UK National Bingo game. Paul Ian Smith was practicing his game at the Mecca Club in Clough Road on a Friday evening when lady luck decided to shine on him.

He won the National game which paid a prize of ₤20 700, the regional prize of ₤3 262 and the house prize of no less than the amount of ₤286. He had to share the National Bingo prize of ₤62 100 with another two winners from Sunderland and Chester as they had also called bingo in forty-four calls.

Paul who is a partner in the Coach industry, only joined the Mecca bingo club this January, he and his girlfriend Tracy Ann Millington decided to join the bingo because they were bored and they only play about once every two weeks.

He says that he just couldn’t believe it when they told him how much he had won as they had only gone to play bingo for something to do, not specifically for the intention of winning, but his girlfriend was even more surprised and all she could do was burst into tears.
