Sexton’s Sisters Suit Settled!!

Three sisters have been at odds since June of 2007, and finally the lawsuit filed in Chester County Courts has put an end to the dispute.

Just about 10 months ago, three sisters began a disagreement that would not only last longer than they ever imagined, but would require a judge to settle in the end.

Edna Sexton, age 59, and the eldest of three sisters, enjoyed a fabulous win of £50,000 playing bingo in Hunts Cross, Liverpool. Buckingham Bingo was the place to be that night; however, Mrs. Sexton’s two sisters weren’t satisfied with just being there.

Doreen Thomas, age 57, and the youngest of the three sisters, Linda Kenny, age 53, wound up filing a law suit against their winning sister. The two younger sisters wanted Mrs. Sexton to follow through on an agreement they had followed since they began their bingo gaming back in 2005.

Over the two years of gaming, the sisters split equally any winnings they contributed to in the form of purchasing tickets. One night’s prize money was even shared when Mrs. Sexton was not in attendance – she had purchased tickets for the evening but was not there to play them. The other sisters gave her a third of the money won that night, following their verbal agreement to do so.

When the eldest sister won her huge prize at Buckingham Bingo Palace, she was not so forthcoming. This decision was not supported by the Chester County Court judge who heard the case presented by her two younger sisters.

In a final ruling, each of the two siblings originally left out of the winning were awarded £17,463 – as well as interest accumulated since the win. The vindicated sisters smiled as they left the court, and revealed to reporters that they believe their sister wouldn’t pay up because she had already spent the money. No word on whether the relationship between the three will be repaired or left to disappear like the original prize money.
